10-MILE TIME TRIAL COURSE WEST LEAKE

The course uses a 5.22-mile anti-clockwise circuit in the direction of West Leake – Kingston on Soar – West Leake.

START: On Pithouse Lane, West Leake at the 40mph/bend sign just beyond the bridge over the brook.

PROCEED towards West Leake and TURN LEFT into Dark Lane. PROCEED in a northerly direction along Dark Lane becoming West Leake Lane to New Kingston crossroads. TURN LEFT WITH GREAT CARE onto Gotham Road and PROCEED in a westerly direction to Kingston on Soar. TURN LEFT at the junction onto Station Road in a southerly direction and PROCEED towards Sutton Bonington and at the crossroads TURN LEFT into Melton Lane. PROCEED in an easterly direction to pass the signing-on area to pass the Star Inn public house. TURN LEFT and pass the start location. COMMENCE 2nd lap to FINISH on Melton Lane, just beyond the junction of Melton Lane with Landcroft Lane at * yards beyond the 40mph road sign.

10-MILE TIME TRIAL COURSE KINGSTON

The course uses a 10-mile out and returns in the direction Kingston on Soar –Gotham - East Leake – Gotham- Kingston on Soar

START: In Kingston on Soar at the Green by the village bench at the end of the kerbstone. PROCEED along Gotham Road in an easterly direction towards Gotham. At 1st traffic island TAKE 2nd EXIT onto Gypsum Way and PROCEED to 2nd traffic island. At the 2nd traffic island TAKE 2nd EXIT into Leake Road and PROCEED towards East Leake TURN at the 1st traffic island TAKE 4th EXIT and RETURN to Kingston on Soar. RETRACE ROUTE along Leake Road. At the 2nd traffic island TAKE 1st EXIT onto Gypsum Way and PROCEED to the 3rd traffic island. At 3rd traffic island TAKE 1st EXIT into Gotham Road and PROCEED in a westerly direction towards Kingston on Soar. FINISH in Kingston on Soar bearing left at the village green into Station Road and finishing at lamp post no 12

25-MILE TIME TRIAL WEST LEAKE COURSE

The course uses a 5.22 mile anti-clockwise circuit in the direction West Leake – Kingston on Soar – West Leake.

START: At gate opening 200 yards beyond the foot of Dark Lane Hill.

PROCEED in a northerly direction along Dark Lane becoming West Leake Lane to New Kingston crossroads. TURN LEFT WITH GREAT CARE onto Gotham Road and PROCEED in a westerly direction to Kingston on Soar. TURN LEFT at the junction onto Station Road in a southerly direction and PROCEED towards Sutton Bonington and at the crossroads TURN LEFT into Melton Lane. PROCEED in an easterly direction to pass the signing on area to pass the Star Inn public house. TURN LEFT into Pithouse Lane and PROCEED to West Leake village. TURN LEFT into Dark Lane and at the foot of the hill, commence 2nd lap and REPEAT for a 3rd and 4th Lap to FINISH on Melton Lane, just beyond the junction of Melton Lane with Landcroft Lane at * yards beyond the 40mph road sign.

Course Description: VELO CLUB LONG EATON 15.3 mile time trial course.

The course uses 3 laps of a 5.2 mile anti-clockwise circuit in the direction West Leake – Kingston on Soar – West Leake.

START at the gate opening just beyond the bridge on Pithouse Lane. At West Leake village and turn left into Dark Lane. PROCEED in a northerly direction along Dark Lane becoming West Leake Lane to New Kingston crossroads. TURN LEFT WITH GREAT CARE onto Gotham Road and PROCEED in a westerly direction to Kingston on Soar. TURN LEFT at the junction onto Station Road in a southerly direction and PROCEED towards Sutton Bonington and at the crossroads TURN LEFT into Melton Lane. PROCEED in an easterly direction to pass the signing on area to complete one lap. REPEAT for a 2nd and 3rd lap to FINISH at the tarmac trench crossing beyond the 40mph speed restriction sign just past the junction with Landcroft Lane.
